Two of Stockholm’s largest cultural institutions, Kulturhuset and Stadsteatern, were about to merge. Our brief was to develop a graphic identity for the new organization. Because cultural expressions are built on diversity, dynamics and openness, we created the new identity by combining the original colors from the architect Peter Celsing. The building and its surroundings also influenced us: the characteristic wedge of the central plaza, Sergels torg. The result is a graphic identity for Kulturhuset/Stadsteatern that is as multifaceted as the experiences that the house contains. We see the identity as a dynamic stage for multiple expressions that reflects the holistic image of this prominent structure.
